HELPR-1 – First Officer

SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all decks, topsides, ship stores, voids, tanks and the efficient operation of the deck and tenders. This should be achieved by working to a planned maintenance program and by working with the Master, Chief Engineer and Mission Leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hold navigational watches.
  • Write and post up the daily deck crew roster
  • Responsible for delivering and maintaining record of crew safety training and deck crew in job training
  • Responsible for the deck crew appraisal
  • Responsible for the ship PMS – deck department.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all decks, topside, ship stores, deck equipment, all boats and the efficient operation of the deck and tenders.
  • Responsible for the LSA and FFE equipment on board.
  • Supervise the crew induction delivery and record
  • Supervise the ship deck stock take and
  • Prepare, run and conduct debriefs for all drills as per drill
  • Ensure that the vessel maintains a smooth operational turn around in all ports in conjunction with Captain, Chief Engineer and marine management.
  • Ensure the garbage log is kept up to date, in particular entries related to garbage disposal in
  • Responsible for the appropriate management of garbage on board by ensuring garbage disposal is carried out whenever is possible according with regulation and the garbage room is tidy and garbage segregated as required
  • Responsible for maintaining a mate report that needs to be sent to main office at the end of each mission.
  • Ensure the lifting gear register is kept up to date
  • Ensure compliance of all regulations, codes of conduct, standards and company policies at all
  • Assist all crew in their understanding of International Safety Management systems (ISM).
  • Ensure compliance with International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) code and safe keeping of scanning
  • Continually liaise with the Captain, Chief Engineer and Mission Leaders to determine the daily program and
  • Maintain the Tender, and inflatable
  • The handling and transportation of all guest luggage to and from the ship, while observing all safety and security standards.
  • Observe all “Standing Orders” as issued by the
  • Participation in drills as required by Statutory Regulation and undertake other shipboard/shoreside training as required by the
  • Attend crew
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the ship board

Required to work as part of a high performing crew.

Required to maintain the highest standards of behaviour and discipline.

Required to undertake other duties as reasonably directed by the Master.

CERTIFICATES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As per the jurisdiction of which the vessel is operating in at the time of deployment.

FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION

Food and accommodation is provided free of charge whilst aboard the vessels.

As per the Navigation Act, it is the responsibility of all crew to keep crew quarters clean and presentable at all times. Quarters will be inspected periodically by the Master.

Shared Mess room and Laundry is provided on board
