HELPR-1 – Steward
Summary of role
The housekeeper is to provide outstanding customer service in the areas of food and dining room and is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of accommodation presentation.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Food Service
- Setting up of dining room in preparation for meals.
- Cleaning of dining room after all meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of bar area.
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas onboard the vessel.
Galley – as per Masters request
- Assisting in Galley cleaning and hygiene maintenance.
Accommodation
- Daily servicing of guest cabins.
- Complete remake of guest cabins at turnaround.
- General cleaning and daily cleaning duties as required and directed.
Additional responsibilities
Guest Interaction
- Responsible for the comfort and wellbeing of all passengers always. This should be achieved through active and non-intrusive passenger interaction.
Teamwork
- Required to work as part of a high performing team / crew in the provision of your overall responsibilities.
Standards
- Required to maintain the highest standards of behaviour, discipline and dress appropriate to company policy and image at all times.
Other
- Required to complete all other duties as directed by the Administration Person and Master. Such requests will be of a reasonable nature.
- Required to maintain the highest standards of behaviour and discipline.
- Required to work as part of a high performing crew.
- Participation in drills as required by Statutory Regulation and undertake other shipboard/shoreside training as required by the Company.
- Attend crew meetings.
Certificates and qualifications
The following certificates must be obtained within three (3) months of job commencement date:
- Safety Certificate
- Security Certificate
- Seaman’s Book
- Seafarers Medical
- Valid Vanuatu Passport
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- STCW95/CoST
Food and accommodation
Food is provided free of charge whilst aboard the vessels.
Twin share accommodation is provided, free of charge. Sole use of cabin accommodation is provided free of charge when available.
Per the Navigation Act and the Respond Global Employee Code of Conduct & Disciplinary Procedure, it is the responsibility of all crew to keep crew quarters clean and presentable at all times. All crew and officers’ quarters will be inspected by the Master.
