The Organization

Your Responsibilities

  1. Ship Operation Management:
    • Ensure operational leadership of the tugboat, overseeing safe towing, mooring, and unmooring operations in compliance with maritime regulations.
    • Make informed decisions to ensure the effectiveness of operations, considering weather conditions, size of vessels being towed, and environmental challenges.
  2. Supervision of Deck Crew:
    • Lead and supervise the deck crew, including officers and seamen, ensuring tasks are appropriately assigned and safety and performance standards are upheld.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging ongoing training and professional development of the crew.
  3. Maintenance of ship at Berth:
    • Supervise and coordinate maintenance operations of the tugboat or LCU while at berth, collaborating with the technical team to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
    • Ensure that all systems of the tugboat are regularly inspected, lubricated, and repaired according to manufacturer’s requirements and safety standards.
  4. Navigation and Safety Equipment Maintenance:
    • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of navigation, communication, and safety equipment on the ship, including radars, radios, alarm systems, and life-saving equipment.
    • Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance operations to ensure consistent availability of essential equipment.
  5. Coordination, Communication, and Directive Adherence:
    • Work closely with management to coordinate ship operations in alignment with company objectives.
    • Maintain regular communication with management, adhering to established directives and policies while reporting activities and outcomes.
  6. Emergency Management:
    • Be prepared to react effectively in emergency situations, such as navigation incidents, extreme weather conditions, or rescue operations.
    • Lead the crew in implementing emergency procedures and safety plans, prioritizing the safety of the crew, vessel, and environment.

 

Selection Criteria and Skills

-Near coastal and international experience

-International regulation knowledge (ISM, SOLAS, GMDSS, Marpol, IMDG, ISPS)

-Strong Managing skills

-qualification Master 3000 UMS (STCW II/2) compulsory

-minimum of 5 years of experience in the position
